Future Institute of Australia case study with client

Summary

The City of Greater Geraldton engaged Future Institute to run a Building Resilience program for their Executive Team.  During 2020 the City went through a variety for challenges and this program was aimed at re-building confidence and re-uniting the team.

Due to COVID-19 this program was conducted virtually over three separate sessions as follows.

Session 1 – Developing Emotional Intelligence

Session 2 – Responding Positively to Change

Session 3 – Building Resilience

Prior to attending the virtual workshops, participants had to complete an eLearning module.  Included in the eLearning were two diagnostics tools (Emotional Intelligence test and Change Orientation Self-Assessment).

There were also a range of practical activities and tools that enabled the City of Greater Geraldton Leaders to apply what they learnt (into their personal and professional life).

Customisation

Future Institute worked closely with the City of Greater Geraldton to understand the challenges that leaders were facing.  From here the Future Institute team created meaniful activities that were aligned with these challenges to allow the leaders to refelect on how they could apply the tools and strategies to their roles in real time.

Delivery

There were three modules for this program and as it was deleivered during lock down periods of the pandemic it was delivered virtually.  The three modules were delivered over 3 x 3 hour virtual workshops.  The second program was delivered in a combination of virtual and face to face due to restrictions being lifted.

Progress

The CEO and other Senior Leaders were highly engaged and reported nothing but positive feedback about the way the program was delivered and the quality of the facilitation.  They were so happy with the result that they requested the same program be delivered to all of the City’s Coordinators and Supervisors.  This program was rolled out in the first half of 2021 and was just as successful.
