Emotional Intelligence Course
“The most effective leaders are all alike in one crucial way: they all have a high degree of emotional intelligence. It’s not that IQ and technical skills are irrelevant. They do matter, but…. they are entry-level requirements for executive positions.” – Daniel Goleman
Why Emotional Intelligence?
Emotional Intelligence (EQ) has increasingly become a key leadership skill. Numerous studies within the last decade have shown a positive relationship between emotionally intelligent leadership and employee satisfaction and organisational performance.Leaders have to deal with a diverse range of people and backgrounds on a daily basis; as well as dealing with competing demands, challenging situations and personal stress. Therefore a high EQ is a critical component of effective leadership.
A high EQ consists of someone having an in-depth understanding or their own emotional state and also having the ability to recognise, understand and respond appropriately to the emotions of others.
EQ is not only beneficial to leaders, but to all staff who deal with people inside or outside the organisation. People with a high EQ find it easier to form and maintain interpersonal relationships, are better workplace communicators and have a better understanding of their own emotional state.
How can Emotional Intelligence training improve your business?
By putting your staff through EQ training, they will unlock the knowledge, skills, techniques and tools to develop their own EQ to achieve positive outcomes in the workplace.
Some key benefits of an Emotional Intelligent workforce:
- Workers with high EQ are more influential when working in teams, adjust well to change and are more flexible.
- EQ teaches skills in perseverance, self-control and getting along with others.
- EQ gives the ability to anticipate reactions and respond effectively, assisting with negotiations, managing conflict and dealing with internal and external complaints.
- EQ can help sales and customer service teams to increase their ability to recognise, understand and respond appropriately to others. Using empathy and impulse control for better questioning, listening and responding to subtle customer non-verbal signals.
