Empowering Coordinators at the City of Bayswater

The City of Bayswater sought a training provider to design and deliver a tailored leadership development program for its Coordinators. Future Institute was selected through a competitive process and partnered closely with the City to define leadership capability requirements and develop a customised training solution aligned with their organisational goals.
The resulting program focused on building core leadership skills through the following key topics:

To support blended learning, participants completed a short eLearning module prior to each workshop. This provided essential foundational knowledge and allowed the face-to-face workshops to concentrate on engaging, activity-based learning.
In addition to the Coordinator leadership program Future Institute also worked with the City to develop a mentoring workshop for its Managers. This program was designed around empowering the Managers to coach and develop their Coordinators throughout their leadership training journey and coincided with the release of a new performance management system and process.
Customisation
Future Institute worked collaboratively with the City of Bayswater to pinpoint specific areas for leadership development. Training content was then tailored to these needs, with a strong emphasis on practical application. Real City of Bayswater projects and workplace scenarios were incorporated throughout the training to ensure relevance and immediate transferability to the participants’ roles.
Program Delivery
The program was delivered across five full-day workshops over six months. Each topic was introduced via an eLearning module completed in advance of the workshop, allowing workshop time to focus on activity-based and collaborative learning.
A range of diagnostic tools were also integrated to deepen participants’ self-awareness and development.
