Course Overview

This course is designed for leaders wanting to develop a mentoring relationship to assist their team with development and growth. Participants will delve into the distinct roles and responsibilities of mentors and mentees, gaining clarity on how to foster a supportive and effective mentoring relationship.

The course will provide practical tools and frameworks such as the IGROW Model and the 4 My’s, enabling leaders to guide their team members through goal-setting and personal development processes. By mastering these mentoring techniques, leaders can help their employees identify strengths, overcome challenges, and achieve their professional aspirations.

Duration and Delivery

This course offers two options:  

    • a full-day (8 hours)
    • a half-day (4 hours)

    Both options are available either as face-to-face sessions for up to 18 participants or as virtual sessions (half-day only) for up to 9 participants

    Course Customisation

    To ensure our training meets the specific needs of your organisation, our Instructional Design Team will facilitate a virtual meeting to customise and contextualise the content and activities in line with your workplace procedures and practices, and develop suitable activities, scenarios, and workplace application strategies to ensure meaningful outcomes.

    Course Inclusions

    • Workbook – a take-away workbook of content, activities and notes from the workshop  
    • Customisation is included in the course cost 

    Optional Extra

    We recommend an eLearning module is completed by the participants prior to the workshop. This pre-learning will provide the underpinning knowledge for the theorists and reflectors and allow the session to be more practical and application based (additional cost).  

    Learning Outcomes

    • Understand the benefits and importance of mentoring relationships in employee development and career growth
    • Identify the roles and responsibilities of both mentors and mentees in a mentoring partnership
    • Develop effective communication and mentoring / coaching skills to provide constructive feedback and guidance
    • Facilitate goal-setting and skill development for mentees to enhance their professional capabilities
    • Apply mentoring strategies and models eg. IGROW Model, 4 My’s, to support employees in setting and achieving meaningful goals
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of mentoring relationships and make continuous improvements to the program
