About this Project
WA Mining Club partnered with Future Institute to deliver a customised one-day leadership development program for mentees participating in its Emerging Leaders mentoring initiative.
Developed specifically for emerging professionals in the WA mining sector, the program focused on building practical leadership skills and providing participants with tools and insights they could apply in their workplaces.
To ensure the training was relevant and relatable, the program incorporated mining-specific scenarios, industry terminology, practical examples and real-life case studies that reflected the realities of leadership within the mining industry.
Why the WA Mining Club chose Future Institute
Through Jeff Coote’s involvement as a member of the WA Mining Club, the Club developed a connection with Future Institute and recognised the opportunity to provide tailored leadership development for its Emerging Leaders.
Future Institute offered a flexible approach, customising the one-day program specifically for the Club’s mentees. WA Mining Club valued the ability to deliver training that was relevant and relatable to its young emerging professionals, while meeting the specific needs of the mentoring initiative.
The Result
Feedback from participants was very positive, with the training providing a valuable opportunity to reflect on their leadership styles, develop a greater understanding of emotional intelligence and explore ways to continue growing as leaders.
Participants particularly valued the opportunity to connect with other mining industry professionals, share experiences and gain different perspectives on leadership challenges.
The interactive delivery, relevant course content and trainer’s industry knowledge were also highlighted in the feedback, with participants taking away practical insights they could apply in their day-to-day roles.
