Future Institute offers both a half-day virtual and a full-day face-to-face exam preparation course.
Before completing this course, we would recommend participants have at minimum, completed the WHS risk management units for statutory positions – available through Future Institute’s Statutory Mining Supervisors Course (BSBWHS411 & BSBWHS414) and if relevant, Statutory Mining Managers Course (BSBWHS513).
This training session has been created to assist participants to prepare for the Department of Mines Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) Legislation Exam. The DMIRS Legislation Exam for Statutory Supervisors assesses an individual’s knowledge and ability to navigate and source information from the WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022 and the WHS Act 2020.
Session Topics:
- What to bring on the day of the exam
- Types of exam questions
- Time allocation and self-monitoring
- What to mark-up in your hard-copy Acts and Regulations
- Disseminate and work through a pool of example questions
Participants will need access to a hard copy of the WA WHS Act 2020 and the WA WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022 for this course.

- Register online for the DMIRS Exam (WHS Mines Statutory Positions Portal) and prior to attending, complete their ‘example exam questions’
- Complete the DMIRS Legislation Exam
