Government Funding

The Australian Government is committed in supporting the Australian workforce to boost productivity and drive the economy forward. As a result, Governments provide a range of comprehensive funding schemes and incentive opportunities to encourage training and development in the business community.

Some of Future Institute’s training programs qualify for Government incentive / funding arrangements, via the traineeship model.

Traineeship Misconceptions

Often businesses assume that traineeships are only applicable to young people leaving school or new employees getting back into the workforce. It is true that traineeships are commonly provided to these groups but traineeships also extend to existing workers regardless of their age and include qualifications up to Advance Diploma level.

Traineeships Arrangements

There are hundreds of qualifications that can be delivered under a traineeship arrangement, including BSB40520 – Certificate IV in Leadership and Management.

Traineeships are delivered through nationally recognised qualifications and provide practical skills in the workplace. Trainees are required to be employed under contract with an organisation to gain hands-on skills and work experience under normal wages or salary. Traineeships are usually in non-trade related areas.

Depending on the worker’s existing skills / experience (and the qualification that they are undertaking), traineeships take between 9 to 24 months to complete.

Traineeship Qualifications Currently Available (provided by Future Institute)

  • BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management

Eligibility

There are eligibility criteria for an employee to be signed up into a Traineeship.

Incentives and funding arrangements are generally restricted to Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents or NZ passport holders with more than 6 months’ residence.

Beyond this, eligibility requirements differ between schemes, with varying degrees of detail and complexity. For this reason, Future Institute operates as an industry specialist to monitor ongoing changes to Government incentive schemes. We also work closely with relevant Federal and State Government Agencies and Australian Apprenticeships Support Networks* to help facilitate the implementation of incentive and funding opportunities.

Future Institute assists its clients through every step and handles the administrative processes.
